The Sneed House or “Shop-house” is a 1780-style saltbox. This charming home on Market Street was completed by Robert and Vene Sneed in 1986 on the original woodworking shop lot adjacent to the blacksmith shop. This lot was also known as the wagon yard, because customers left their wagons there for repairs. To the south of the house, behind the restored shop building, Mrs. Sneed maintains a traditional herb garden.
